With industry trends favouring a downscale of ‘the local branch’, the Apia fitout displays a contra-approach, where community activity and notions of ‘homeliness’ are expressed.
With many Apia clients residing in retirement communities, the notion of ‘home’ was identified as an underpinning theme of the design concept, and key to presenting a familiar and accessible design language to the customer. Clients respond to the space with an immediate sense of comfort and orientation, where they once experienced intimidation.
